Preparing a Gold EDDM printing order involves more than choosing a quantity. Use this production checklist to review the current Gold package specifications, prepare accurate artwork, and coordinate the mailing before final approval.

Step 1: Verify Your Gold Package Specifications

Open the current Gold package product page and confirm the finished dimensions, available quantities, printing options and turnaround information. Use the actual specifications supplied for your order rather than a generic postcard template.

Step 2: Obtain the Correct Artwork Template

Confirm the printer's required document dimensions, bleed, trim and safe areas. Keep important headlines, offer details, contact information and QR codes inside the approved safe area. Extend background colors and photographs into the required bleed.

Step 3: Check Image Quality and Color

Review photographs and logos at their intended printed size. Confirm the required image resolution, color mode and accepted file format with the printer. Inspect fine lines, small type and contrast before submitting artwork.

Step 4: Prepare the Postal Addressing Area

Confirm the current USPS EDDM addressing, indicia and mailpiece preparation requirements for the selected mailing service. Reserve the necessary space in the approved design and avoid placing promotional text where postal information must appear.

Step 5: Reconcile Quantity With Selected Routes

Record the selected USPS carrier routes and their current eligible address counts. Compare the combined required quantity against the Gold package quantity being ordered. Confirm any additional copies or production allowances separately.

Step 6: Proofread Every Customer-Facing Detail

Business name, address and telephone number
Website address and QR code destination
Offer amount and redemption instructions
Expiration date and applicable restrictions
Spelling, readability and image placement
Mailing panel and postal preparation details

Step 7: Approve the Final Production Proof

Review the printer's final proof at the correct finished dimensions. Confirm both sides of the artwork where applicable. Check that all requested revisions were incorporated before giving production approval.

Step 8: Confirm Mailing Responsibilities

Establish who will handle printing, bundling, postage, delivery to USPS and any other required mailing preparation. Confirm the expected production schedule and avoid promising an exact in-home delivery date unless supported by the mailing arrangement.
